This hike is a short, but attractive part of a much longer excursion route, fitted out in 1989 and called ‘Wayfarer’s Path’. It runs from Bellano to Varenna along a thin mule track that winds along the side of the mountain, among chestnut woods and mild cultivated slopes.

Belvedere Makallé affords magnificent views of the tip of Bellagio, the watershed between the two branches of Lake Como.

We will climb Mount Crocione. 1,641 meters high, this peak seems like a sentinel positioned in the center of Lake Como exactly in front of the Bellagio peninsula.

Monte San Primo is the highest mountain in the Larian triangle. With its 1,682 meters it is a sentinel above the meeting point of the two branches of Lake Como. Once you reach the summit of Monte San Primo, the panorama is stupendous and you can enjoy one of the best views of Lake Como.

We will climb Monte Barro to admire a fantastic sunset. Thanks to its strategic position, this mountain offers an incredibly suggestive panorama that ranges from the mountains of the Larian triangle to the Grigne and Resegone.

Starting from the village of Griante, the path climbs along the woods offering picturesque sights of the lake, following several niches with mosaics.
