We’ll come back passing throught the small rural hamlet of Rogaro, to see its historic nucleus and the nearby medieval watch tower. Then, we’ll reach the shore of the lake to walk along the Greenway Path and close the loop, passing in front of Villa Carlotta.
About the church
S. Martin’s church was built in the XVI century. A legend tells that a shepard girl found in a cave in the mountain a wooden statue representing the Madonna with Child. The statue was brought down to the parish church where it miraculously disappeared and was found again on the St. Martin’s Stone: this was interpreted as the desire of the Virgin to be venerated on the mountain.

Sentiero del Viandante da Bellano a Varenna

We will climb Monte Barro to admire a fantastic sunset. Thanks to its strategic position, this mountain offers an incredibly suggestive panorama that ranges from the mountains of the Larian triangle to the Grigne and Resegone.
